The Samurai Chef is a unique, experience-driven sushi brand that fuses the spirit of Bushido with the refined techniques of traditional Edo-mae sushi.

The iconic makeup worn by The Samurai Chef is inspired by the legendary warrior Kamakura Gongorō Kagemasa, a superhuman hero from Japan's late Heian period, whose image is said to be the origin of Kabuki's bold kumadori makeup.

Struck by an arrow in the eye, he refused to retreat. He pulled it out himself and continued fighting.

His story embodies an indomitable, ferocious, and heroic spirit that has echoed through Japanese history.

サムライシェフが纏う象徴的な化粧は、平安時代後期の伝説的な武将、鎌倉権五郎景政に着想を得ています。
彼は超人的な英雄として知られ、その姿が歌舞伎の力強い隈取の起源になったとも言われています。

THE SAMURAI CHEF

The Samurai Chef, inheriting the spirit of the late Heian period warrior Kamakura Gongoro Kagemasa, conveys authentic Edomae sushi techniques to the world through traditional Kabuki kumadori makeup.

After mastering traditional Edomae sushi techniques in Tokyo, he established his own unique style and began international activities (The Samurai Chef Project) to promote Japanese food culture worldwide.

Incorporating the Bushido spirit of "Gi (rectitude), Yu (courage), Jin (benevolence), Rei (respect), Makoto (honesty), Meiyo (honor), Chugi (loyalty)" into his cooking, his heartfelt approach to crafting each piece of sushi continues to move many people.

The Samurai Chef は、平安時代後期の武将・鎌倉権五郎景政の精神を受け継ぎ、
歌舞伎の伝統的な隈取の化粧を通して、
本物の江戸前寿司の技術を世界へと伝えています。

東京にて伝統的な江戸前寿司の技を修めた後、
独自のスタイルを確立し、日本食文化を世界に発信するための
国際的な活動 (The Samurai Chef Project) を開始しました。
